BMBF Supporting Implant Research in Rostock until 2019
The implant researchers of the University of Rostock are part of one of ten projects in Germany that are supported by the 500-million Euro research programme "Zwanzig20 – Partnership for Innovation" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The concept "Response – Partnership for Innovation and Implant Technology" is being funded up to 2019 with 45 million Euros. Under the direction of the University of Rostock, research institutes and companies are developing innovative implants leading to relieving of the health system in the treatment of common illnesses such as cardio-vascular diseases, cataracts and glaucoma, hearing difficulties and deafness. At the same time, it is intended to improve their functioning and service life and to simplify their use.
